How to enable Collection rich snippets?
To be able to turn on the Collection schema from the AC Rich Snippets:
Navigate JSON-LD Schemas page
Click the Turn on button from the Collection schema settings tile
That's all!
There are no additional settings for the Collection schema. It will use your collection pages' data and generate the collection structured data automatically.
The collection schema is identified as Carousel by Google and as ItemList by Schema.org. This discrepancy occurs because Google's Rich Snippets tool and Schema.org's validator interpret structured data differently:
Google recognises ItemList as a structured way to present multiple related items, aligning it with how carousels appear in search results.
Schema.org is more generic. It strictly follows the schema.org standards, interpreting it exactly as defined without applying Google’s specific enhancements.
