How to test schemas on Schema.org manually?

Navigate to your store

  • Enter your store’s password to gain access to the storefront if it's password-protected.

  • Navigate to the specific page (e.g., product, collection, home page) you wish to test.

  1. Open the Browser’s Page Source

    • In most browsers, right-click anywhere on the page and select View Page Source.

    • Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + U (Windows) or Command + Option + U (Mac) to view the source code of the page.

    1. Right click on the page and select View Source
    2. A new tab will pop up with the source code for that web page.
  2. Copy the Entire Source Code

    • Once the source code (HTML) is displayed, select all of the code.

    • Right-click and choose Copy, or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + A followed by Ctrl + C (Windows) / Command + A followed by Command + C (Mac).

  3. Go to the Schema.org Validation Tool

    • By default, these tools allow you to Enter a URL. However, if your store is password-protected, you need to switch to the Code snippet option.

  4. Paste the Source Code

    • In the Code snippet tab/option, paste the entire source code you copied in Step 2.

    • Double-check to make sure you haven’t missed any part of the code.

  5. Run the Test

    • Click the Test Code button.

    • Wait for the tool to analyze your pasted code.

  6. Review the Results

    • The tool will display any errors or warnings related to your structured data.

    • If you see errors or warnings, you’ll know which parts of your schema need updating or debugging.

    • If everything is correct, the tool will show that your rich snippets results data is valid.
